"Gospel Gossip is the only band that falls under the category of 'shoegaze' that drives me to dance. I'm not talking about swaying my shoulders while my feet are in place like a good indie kid. I'm talking about the kind of dancing that you hope either breaks something or gets you laid. Their post punk influences surface most evidently in the throbbing bass lines and danceable drums that make you seize like Ian Curtis. A true psychedelic experience lies in the crunchy overlay of swirling guitar and floating vocal melodies. It may seem nice and fun, but when the time comes...and it definitely comes, they lay into their instruments creating a cacophonic wall of sound as their eyes roll back into their universal head, and sweat beads, and people end up on their knees with arched backs and, hell, maybe even curled toes. That's just what has to happen." -Max Clark, Unicorn Basement

Drift EP

I first heard the songs that would become "Drift" in the middle of the first snowstorm of the year. After hearing the record, I couldn't think of anything more appropriate. Immediately the record hits the listener with a torrential wave of sound. The sound surrounds you and forces you inside to discover the warmth of not only the guitars but Nienaber's lyrics. Moltaji's drums pour down, steady and surprising and Plank holds everything together like a backbone. "Drift" represents itself as not only growth for this three piece but a new season. It comes as refreshing as feeling the first snow fall. ~Patrick Donohoe
